BOARD AND LEADERSHIP RETREATS
I have led leadership and board retreats for over 30 years. Generally, a 60- to 90-minute planning meeting with about five people ensures that the retreat will best meet the needs of the client. Participants learn tools and skills that enhance their leadership and enable better collaboration. Boards learn procedures to more through impasses and to become more creative. Opportunites for prayer, silence, and reflective meditation are built into the training according to the client's request. Retreats can focus on particular issues (e.g., sabbatical planning, leadership transition, outreach, etc.), community building, leadership development, goal settings, or a combination of these.
